TEC worked with Cisco on conceptualising their event vision of a non-traditional expo to create a more ‘fun’ and relaxed and interactive delegate journey. It was key that it included some sort of gamification across the event to encourage interactions and networking.
TEC researched several event technologies and concepts that encourage interaction and immersive play amongst the panel sessions and exhibition stands whilst incorporating a theme. Following their review, TEC proposed using RFID wrist bands upon registration to all customers with the aim to create a gamification element to their event. Upon registration guests were provided with the wrist bands and encouraged to partake in panel sessions and visit as many partner stands as possible to collect tokens that they were then able to redeemed at various entertainment stations themed around carnival games.
Not only did this create a fun and interactive way of connecting and networking with peers but it also meant they were able to provide Cisco with tracking data of the delegate journey and provided a clear indication of popular panel sessions and partner stands for customers across the event.
The keynote panel session was opened with a live band as an ice breaker and motivational morning energiser to kick-off the theme of the event. This was an unexpected and unique way to launch the keynote session and created a precedent for a fun and interactive Cisco Connect. TEC also managed the live streaming of the keynote which was broadcasted on Facebook and enabled customers from the MENA region to experience the event remotely.
They helped bring content panel discussions to life throughout the event by creating immersive sessions that inspired exchanges and interaction away from classroom-style presentations. True to the event theme TEC disrupted the traditional event format and moved towards an interactive and immersive casual setting with audience engagement and participation within the presentations and live demonstrations.
TEC was asked to create an immersive and interactive ‘Customer Hub’ expo outside of the main room where partners are able to showcase live innovations and break-through technologies. They specifically designed the space not to be a traditional Expo, rather, a showcase for ideas and an opportunity for the audience to gain insights into their stories within a more intimate environment.
“Clearly articulated and met KPIs. The design approach and experiential journey to change the event with everything from dress code to unexpected on stage performances was fresh and exciting. Nice use of technology to drive and measure attendees' journeys too.”
“Certainly an event the TEC team can be proud of, having achieved, even exceeded, the client's objectives. It's heartening to see creative ideas brought to life.”
“Great large-scale conference and the application had good data and feedback showing proven outcomes.”
“A well executed event with audience engagement in both networking and keynote/breakout areas.”
